Soft subtitles are separate files that can be toggled on or off during playback. Hard (burned) subtitles are permanently embedded into the video frames. This tool burns subtitles into the video so they display on any player without needing a separate subtitle file.
How long does burning subtitles take?
Processing time depends on the video length, resolution, and your device performance. The video is played through a canvas and re-recorded in real time, so a 2-minute video takes roughly 2 minutes to process.
Why is the output in WebM format?
The tool uses the browser's built-in MediaRecorder API for client-side processing. Most browsers encode to WebM (VP8/VP9) natively. This avoids requiring any server-side processing or external libraries.
Can I customize the subtitle appearance?
