Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. It uses a timer to break work into focused intervals (typically 25 minutes), separated by short breaks. After four work intervals, a longer break is taken. This approach helps maintain concentration and prevents burnout.

Can I change the timer durations?

Yes. Use the custom duration inputs to set your preferred work, short break, and long break times in minutes. Click "Apply" to save your settings. The timer will use your custom durations for all future sessions.

Does this timer work offline?

Once the page is loaded, the timer runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No internet connection is needed to use the timer, although you need to keep the browser tab open for it to count down.

Will I hear a notification when the timer ends?

Yes. The timer uses the Web Audio API to play a short beep tone when a session ends. Make sure your device volume is on. No external audio files are required -- the sound is generated directly in the browser.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. All timer data and session logs stay in your browser for the current page session. Nothing is sent to a server or stored permanently. Refreshing the page will reset your session log.
